The homeowner approached us at the Ottawa Fall Home Show in September 2016 with a vision: she wanted a new bathroom constructed in her basement. After our initial discussion, she enlisted us to design and execute this home improvement project.

In the process, we rectified some builder-made errors, particularly concerning the location of rough-in drains. We went on to design a curbless shower, contributing to a sleek and modern aesthetic. To create a truly timeless and appealing bathroom, we fashioned a sink vanity entirely from leathered granite, fronted by a weathered barn board fascia.

Despite its modest dimensions of 7’8″ x 5’0″, the bathroom exudes a sense of spaciousness, thanks to the thoughtful layout and design elements. This transformation successfully met the homeowner’s expectations and brought her vision for a new, elegant basement bathroom to life.
